Qualifications

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to enhance players' skills.
  • Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring effective use of time and resources.
  • Plan and oversee the team’s competition schedule, including games and travel.
  • Foster a positive team culture emphasizing respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Evaluate and assess players' performance with constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Communicate with players, parents, and school administration regarding progress.
  • Collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff for cohesive coaching.
  • Monitor student-athletes' academics to ensure eligibility.
  • Promote the softball program within the school and community.
  • Maintain compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.

Summary

Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our girls' softball program as the Head Softball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in softball, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to mentor young athletes, develop their skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities
  • - Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that enhances players' skills and understanding of the game.
  • - Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring effective use of time and resources.
  • - Plan and oversee the team’s competition schedule, including games, tournaments, and travel arrangements.
  • - Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • - Evaluate and assess players' performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • - Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress and expectations.
  • - Collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff to ensure a cohesive coaching approach.
  • - Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to ensure they meet eligibility requirements.
  • - Promote the softball program within the school and community to encourage participation and support.
  • - Maintain compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations.
Requirements
  • - Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
  • - Strong knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
  • - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • - Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
  • - First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • - A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • - Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
  • - Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
  • - A passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.
