Head Racquet Sports Professional Country Club in Tyler, Texas is looking for a Head Racquet Sports Professional. Position Overview: The Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic, accomplished, and client-focused Head Racquet Sports Professional to help lead and grow our racquet sports program. This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional member experience while developing innovative programming, coaching a strong instructional program, assisting with racquet sports operations, and building a positive, energetic culture for players of all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate is a proven racquet sports professional and leader who combines strong teaching and playing skills with excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building abilities. The Head Racquet Sports Professional will serve as a visible ambassador for the club and will work closely with club leadership, members, and staff to continually enhance the racquet sports experience.
Racquet Sports Programming
- Assist with overall development and execution of the club’s racquet sports programs.
- Develop a comprehensive annual programming calendar that serves juniors, adults, beginners, intermediate players, advanced players, and competitive athletes.
- Create and implement clinics, leagues, tournaments, socials, camps, junior programs, and special events.
- Evaluate programming regularly and introduce new opportunities based on client interests and industry trends.
- Develop programs that encourage participation, retention, and long-term member engagement.
Member Experience & Engagement
- Build strong, personal relationships with members and guests.
- Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels.
- Maintain a visible presence on and off the courts and throughout racquet sports activities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Work to create memorable experiences that encourage members to participate more frequently and become more connected to the club.
Instruction & Coaching
- Provide high-quality private lessons, group instruction, clinics, and junior development programs.
- Establish a clear pathway for junior players from beginner through competitive levels.
- Assist players in setting goals and developing individualized plans for improvement.
- Promote sound fundamentals, sportsmanship, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
- Support competitive junior players and assist with tournament preparation and development.
Staff Leadership
- Help train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate racquet sports staff.
- Establish clear expectations for teaching quality, professionalism, member interaction, and customer service with assistant professionals and shop staff.
- Create a positive team culture built around collaboration, accountability, and member service.
- Ensure consistent standards across all racquet sports programming.
Events & Community Building
- Plan and execute tournaments, member-guest events, social events, junior events, and club championships.
- Promote participation and create opportunities for members to meet and develop relationships with other players.
- Build relationships with local tennis and pickleball organizations and other clubs when appropriate.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional racquet sports experience preferred.
- Strong background in tennis instruction and programming; pickleball experience is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a professional racquet sports staff.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with members and create exceptional member experiences.
- Experience planning and executing tournaments, leagues, clinics, camps, and special events.
- Strong understanding of junior player development.
Qualifications
- MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional racquet sports experience preferred.
- Strong background in tennis instruction and programming; pickleball experience is highly desirable.
