About Crossroads

About Crossroads Crossroads Church is a growing multi-site, interdenominational church. Our sites are currently located in Ohio and Kentucky, with plans to expand to additional cities. We also have an online presence that serves thousands of people who aren't located near one of our physical sites. We believe the story of Jesus' redemption is the greatest story ever told, and that’s why we embrace creativity, adventure, authenticity, and tenacity to share this story with the world. Our desire is to model our staff and church community after the church in Revelation, where people of all nations, tribes, and tongues are worshiping and working together. We’re not there yet, but it’s what we’re working toward with every hire and every person who walks through our doors.

Job Summary

The Head of Video serves as the department leader for all live video production, camera direction, camera operation, image acquisition, video presentation, departmental personnel, and video standards across Crossroads Church. This role establishes the creative vision, technical standards, operational systems, discipline development pathways, and long-term strategy for video across every Crossroads campus, ministry, broadcast, special event, and future production initiative. The Head of Video functions as both the creative leader and subject matter expert for the video discipline, ensuring camera direction, composition, movement, image quality, and visual storytelling enhance worship, teaching, broadcast, and engagement while maintaining exceptional execution and consistency across the organization. Rather than functioning solely as a camera director or operator, this role provides leadership for the video discipline by developing people, establishing standards, evaluating competency, and driving innovation throughout the organization. The Head of Video serves as the organizational owner and advocate for the video discipline. By aligning expertise with authority and accountability, the Head of Video ensures every Crossroads campus benefits from world‑class video leadership, consistent standards, exceptional creative execution, and a unified visual experience that advances the mission of the church.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish and champion Crossroads’ video philosophy, visual storytelling standards, and creative direction across all campuses.
  • Lead the development, coaching, performance management, and succession planning of video staff and volunteers.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop future video leaders through structured leadership and advancement pathways.
  • Define standards and best practices for directing, camera operation, shot composition, camera movement, framing, image quality, and visual storytelling.
  • Create scalable video resources, shot libraries, workflows, training programs, certifications, and operational documentation.
  • Partner with Site Experience Producers to strengthen campus leadership, volunteer development, and weekend readiness.
  • Establish and maintain video execution, production quality, and operational standards across all campuses.
  • Collaborate with Technical leadership to ensure video systems, infrastructure, upgrades, and workflows support creative and operational goals.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging video technologies, production methods, and creative workflows.
  • Conduct site assessments, service reviews, and performance evaluations to improve consistency, efficiency, and storytelling excellence.
  • Build industry relationships, talent pipelines, continuing education opportunities, and networks of freelance video professionals.
  • Manage video budgets, technology investments, and equipment lifecycle planning while balancing innovation with responsible stewardship of organizational resources.

  • Demonstrated success creating organizational standards, workflows, documentation, and operational best practices.
  • Strong ability to recruit, mentor, coach, and develop technical and creative talent.
  • Experienced in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple productions in fast-paced environments.

  • Working knowledge of professional video production systems, including broadcast switchers, camera systems, PTZ/robotic cameras, shading, routing, signal flow, IP video, color management, playback, and communications systems.
  • Experience in large-scale production environments such as multi-site organizations, worship production, broadcast television, live events, touring, streaming, remote production, or corporate events.
