Job summary

JERA Americas Inc. is seeking a General Manager, Upstream Operations, HSE & Regulatory Assurance with deep expertise in oil and gas.

You will provide senior leadership across drilling, completions, production, and field operations while embedding HSE and regulatory compliance into planning and execution. Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas industry with upstream focus.
• Global knowledge of upstream operations, drilling, production, HSE and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead across disciplines to plan and execute field activities.
• Working knowledge of regulatory filings and permitting for air, NORM, water disposal and emissions.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and the ability to collaborate without relying solely on formal authority.
• Experience documenting and improving operational workflows and governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership and oversight across upstream oil and gas activities, including drilling, completions, production, well intervention, facilities, construction, and field operations.
• Ensure HSE and regulatory compliance are embedded in planning, risk management, and execution.
• Lead secondee coordination within the operating company and establish clear objectives and escalation protocols.
• Map end-to-end workflows, governance interfaces, decision gates, roles, and information flows across the operating model.
• Develop dashboards and management reports to inform executive decision-making and performance reviews.
• Foster a culture of discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability across teams.
