Job summary

Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) seeks a Division Manager or Manager, Transit Ambassador Program to lead the regional Transit Ambassador program, promoting safety, customer service, and a welcoming environment across the CTA, Metra, and Pace network. The role emphasizes policy development, training, and interagency collaboration.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field, 7–10 years in public safety or transit, and 3+ years supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, sociology, social work, psychology or related field is required.
• 7–10 years of experience in public safety, social work or transit-related roles for Division Manager.
• 3+ years of supervisory/management experience for Division Manager or 1+ year for Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Transit Ambassador program and ensure safety, customer service and welcoming environment.
• Develop, implement and improve policies, procedures and training for Ambassadors.
• Recruit, hire, train and evaluate Ambassadors with community reflection.
• Oversee incident reports and data analysis to identify risks and improvements.
• Lead outreach and collaboration with law enforcement, social services and community partners.
• Prepare reports on program performance and key metrics for leadership and boards.
