Job summary

Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) seeks a Division Manager or Manager for the Transit Ambassador Program in the Safety & Experience department. The role leads a regional ambassador program to promote safety, customer service, and a welcoming rider experience across CTA, Metra, and Pace networks.

The ideal candidate brings 7–10 years in public safety or transit engagement, with 3+ years in supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in public safety, social work, or transit engagement.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and manage programs.
• Understanding of accessibility, equity, and customer service in public transit.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Transit Ambassador program, including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating ambassadors.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and NITA policies.
• Lead safety, security, incident response, and customer experience initiatives.
• Prepare and present program performance reports to senior leaders and boards.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, social services, and community partners.
• Strategic planning and budgeting for the program.
