Job summary

Integrated Power Services is seeking an Sr. Director of Transformer Engineering to provide strategic leadership across design, repair, testing, and manufacturing support for IPS transformer products.

You will shape engineering standards, grow capabilities, and ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality solutions aligned with customer needs. You will lead a diverse team, collaborate with operations, sales, and executive leadership, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to expand IPS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive transformer and power systems engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineers and cross-functional initiatives.
• Knowledge of power transformers, diagnostics, testing, and industry standards.
• Experience with transformer manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, refurbishment, or field service.
• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and quality-focused initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy for IPS transformer products, services, repair capabilities, standards.
• Provide senior technical leadership for transformer design review, diagnostics, testing, repair, and manufacturing support.
• Establish consistent engineering processes, documentation practices, design review expectations, test procedures, and governance.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with operations, sales, quality, supply chain, field service, marketing, product management, and leadership to improve execution and profitability.
• Support complex customer opportunities by reviewing requirements and participating in technical discussions.
• Serve as senior technical escalation point for transformer failures and quality concerns.
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement for transformer performance and repair quality.
• Ensure practices align with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and IPS standards.
• Identify capability gaps and invest in people, equipment, tools, and training.
• Strengthen knowledge sharing by developing playbooks and training resources.
