Job summary

Delaware North in Buffalo, NY seeks a Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting to govern the company’s financial reporting and accounting policies. You will lead the chart of accounts governance, interface with outside consultants, and ensure internal controls and lender reporting are robust.

The role requires a CPA, a bachelor degree in accounting, and strong Excel skills, with experience in US GAAP and international IFRS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
• CPA required or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication across management and staff levels.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Govern and direct Delaware North’s chart of accounts in accordance with reporting requirements and business needs
• Provide expert advice on technical accounting matters and interface with outside consultants
• Direct the development of internal controls related to processes and monitor compliance with policies
• Ensure lender compliance reporting is timely, complete, and accurate
• Drive policy around technical accounting matters and GAAP/IFRS interpretations
• Assess talent, establish standards, and build engagement within the team
