Job summary

WMAR, The E.W. Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Baltimore, Maryland, seeks an Executive Reporter to lead our mission to enhance storytelling and mentor journalists.

You will guide reporters and MMJs to grow and reach their full potential. You will work with newsroom leaders to execute content strategy, oversee writing across platforms, and uphold journalistic standards while delivering a clear vision for the team.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• 7+ years of experience in related field preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in storytelling and editorial judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and enhance storytelling skills of reporters and MMJs.
• Collaborate with newsroom leaders to execute the content strategy.
• Oversee writing for all platforms and provide timely feedback.
• Develop and supervise workflow strategies for multiple news programs.
• Ensure content adheres to journalistic standards and ethics.
• Deliver a vision and build trust among staff.
• May provide on-air coverage for breaking news.
