Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a senior leader to manage Sterile Processing across the department, coordinating financial, material, and human resources to ensure safe, efficient patient care. The role emphasizes staffing, education, and adherence to standards in a hospital setting.

The position requires strong leadership, budget management, and collaboration with perioperative services to optimize productivity and quality. Exempt, full-time, on-site, with standard 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of Sterile Processing, Surgical Technician, or Surgical Services Nursing experience.
• Three (3) years supervisory, teamleader, or coordinator experience.
• The minimum qualifications include education, certification, and licensure requirements listed.

Responsibilities

• Manages, coordinates, and evaluates all elements of financial, material and human resources in the Sterile Processing department.
• Oversees staffing, credentialing, and overtime to cover patient care and operations.
• Develops ongoing educational programs for staff and new equipment training.
• Leads quality improvement teams and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Monitors budgets, cost centers, and capital equipment planning for perioperative services.
• Ensures documentation, regulatory compliance, and reporting; engages IT for system optimization.
