Edison Smart® in New York City seeks a visionary Head of Software Engineering to build and lead a hands-on software team during rapid growth. You will drive architecture, shipping cadence, and customer deployments while shaping long-term roadmaps with founders and product leaders.

You will stay deeply hands-on, writing and reviewing code weekly, and mentor engineers to scale a modern distributed system across cloud and on-prem components.

Qualifikationen

• Strong leadership of engineering teams in fast-moving startups.
• Hands-on coding: you write/review code weekly.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems design and tradeoffs.
• Ability to scale teams while delivering weekly shipping cadence.

Aufgaben

• Hire, grow and retain a high calibre software engineering team
• Set rhythms for fast delivery: planning, standups, retros and code review culture
• Review code daily and ship 1 to 3 PRs a week
• Drive architecture decisions and debug production issues with the team
• Own the long-term software roadmap with founders and product
• Lead near-term customer deployments with real architectural challenges
• Be the technical voice in leadership across hardware, research and product
