Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Specialist Software Engineer to design, develop, and modernize web and cloud-based solutions in a hybrid environment spanning Cedar Rapids, IA; Denver, CO; and Philadelphia, PA. You will lead architecture, define the technical roadmap, and deliver scalable enterprise applications with secure, compliant practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in application development using Java or .NET technologies.
• Strong experience with microservices and REST APIs.
• 5+ years in cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
• 5+ years in relational/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• 5+ years in integration frameworks and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, deployment.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
• Scripting/automation experience; knowledge of architecture, OO design, patterns, and modern practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modernize applications, including legacy-to-cloud transformations.
• Lead architecture, technical design, and implementation of enterprise services and APIs.
• Own the technical roadmap, stability, performance, and continuous improvement of systems.
