Job summary
MSD seeks a Director and Technical Operations Leader to drive small molecule drug product manufacturing operations at our Elkton site in Virginia. You will own tech transfer, validation, and lifecycle management, working across Science, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Regulatory to ensure right-first-time execution.
The role demands deep operations expertise, strong leadership, and a track record of driving continuous improvement in a regulated environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering required.
- 10+ years in small molecule drug product process/manufacturing operations.
- Advanced degree in chemistry/chemical engineering preferred.
- Proven track record in tech transfer, PPQ, scale-up and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Own site-level product introductions and tech transfer strategy.
- Ensure end-to-end risk assessment and control strategy alignment.
- Maintain strong GMP, data integrity and audit readiness mindset.
- Lead investigations and deliver corrective actions with impact.
- Drive performance monitoring, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
- Build and mentor high-performing Technical Operations teams.
