Job summary

The Ward Law Group is seeking a Demands & Settlements Department Manager in Miami to lead a skilled team responsible for valuing, negotiating, and resolving pre-suit personal injury inventory. This role emphasizes structured processes, clear accountability, and scalable operations without overloading leadership with individual files.

You will set performance standards, coach negotiators, and ensure timely, accurate demand packages while protecting client interests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in personal injury, with substantial time in pre-suit settlement and negotiation.
• Three or more years directly managing a settlements/pre-litigation or case management team.
• Demonstrated experience managing through metrics with standards and coaching.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• On-site role, Monday through Friday, in-office expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team of settlement negotiators and support staff with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Set and monitor department metrics, diagnose variance, and report forecasts to firm leadership.
• Review and approve demand packages and settlement strategies within authority limits.
• Own and improve standard operating procedures, templates, and case-stage definitions for repeatable work.
• Protect client relationships by clear communication and timely, compliant disbursement.
