Job summary

Profound, the marketing platform for AI-driven search, is seeking a Head of Security to build and lead a security program as the company scales into an enterprise platform. You will own security strategy end-to-end while staying hands-on, working with a Security Engineer to mature the program from effective to provably effective at scale.

This role also owns IT operations, spanning identity, endpoint security, SaaS posture, and internal tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security with progressively increasing scope and ownership of a security program
• Experience as a first or early security hire at a high-growth startup (SaaS/B2B preferred)
• Hands-on depth in application security, cloud security, and incident response
• Direct experience owning SOC 2 Type II and driving compliance programs (ISO 27001, GDPR a plus)
• Experience leading and developing a small team

Responsibilities

• Define and own security strategy, roadmap, and risk posture as the company scales
• Build and grow the security function and team
• Represent security in customer conversations, RFPs, and security reviews with enterprise prospects
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Leadership to embed security into the SDLC and roadmap
• Oversee governance, risk, and compliance activities including audits and vendor risk management
• Provide technical direction for cloud and application security; lead incident response
