Job summary

Colleton County School District seeks a Director of Buildings & Grounds to oversee maintenance, repair, and operations of district facilities, with responsibility for capital improvements and infrastructure management.

The role requires leadership over a diverse team, strategic planning aligned with the district's goals, and ensuring safe, sustainable, and compliant facilities that support teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management or related field preferred.
• Advanced degree in Educational Leadership, Administration preferred.
• Professional certification in facilities management or related field preferred.
• Three to five years of responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive facilities maintenance strategies aligned with the district's plan and goals.
• Lead capital improvement projects and budget forecasting for facility operations and maintenance.
• Supervise facilities/maintenance staff and provide training on best practices.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related systems.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental compliance across all facilities.
