Job summary

Algiers Charter Schools seeks a Dean of Culture to lead initiatives that support positive school climate and student well-being. You will collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to promote respect, equity, and excellence across campus.

Responsibilities include overseeing disciplinary practices, restorative approaches, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on data-informed improvement and crisis support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, School Leadership, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Three to five years of successful teaching experience.
• Experience in education with focus on school culture, student behavior management, or leadership.
• Strong understanding of restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience in conflict resolution, student advocacy, and community building.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable school environment.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead programs and activities that promote a positive school culture.
• Process behavioral incidents with students and teachers.
• Track referrals to identify patterns and inform interventions.
• Observe classrooms to improve culture initiatives.
• Oversee student discipline with fair, restorative practices.
• Collaborate with administration and staff to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Build relationships with parents and community as partners.
• Collect and analyze data on behavior and climate; report findings.
