Job summary

The Broad Institute seeks a Principal Specialist, Research Security & Conflict of Interest Management to lead COI program and oversee research security and export control across complex collaborations with MIT, Harvard, and partner hospitals.

Reporting to the Director, this role partners with faculty and administration to ensure regulatory compliance, develop guidance, and respond to evolving mandates while maintaining Broad's scientific mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum education and years of related experience as stated.
• Leadership or mentorship experience required.
• Deep expertise in COI management and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee institutional COI program, ensuring regulatory compliance and documentation of determinations.
• Lead Research Security and Export Control functions with guidance on complex project reviews.
• Partner with OSR, Development, and OSAP to align compliance with business and licensing activities.
• Serve as SME on federal regs (PHS/NIH fCOI, Chips & Science Act, NSPM-33).
• Facilitate COI Committee and Research Security Committee governance and policy implementation.
• Develop and monitor COI management plans and risk mitigation strategies.
• Design and deliver institutional compliance training for Broad's scientific community.
• Represent Broad in external forums; coordinate with MIT, Harvard, affiliated hospitals.
