Job summary

Catalyst Brands in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Director of Reliability, Automation & Performance Engineering to lead critical digital capabilities across multiple brands. The role focuses on building a horizontal Digital Engineering capability, establishing reliability, performance, and automation standards, and driving a unified platform transformation.

The leader will own Site Reliability Engineering, mature performance engineering for customer experience and scalability, and build an automation

Qualifications

12+ years of progressive engineering leadership, incl. reliability, performance, automation, or digital engineering functions.
Deep expertise in modern web architectures, APIs, and microservices.
Strong experience in Site Reliability Engineering, production operations, observability, incident & problem management, and operational excellence.
Deep understanding of performance engineering, load testing, capacity planning, release certification, and validation of customer journeys.
Experience building or leading test automation platforms, automation frameworks, or engineering enablement capabilities.
Strong knowledge of modern digital commerce architectures and distributed systems.
Experience with cloud and platform technologies (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Kafka, CDN tech).
Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch).
Proven ability to establish standards, governance, operating models, and metrics across teams.
Familiarity with core retail systems and their integration with customer experiences.
Demonstrated success leading global, distributed engineering teams and driving measurable business impact.
Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy in fast-paced environments.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead Reliability Engineering strategy across Catalyst Brands’ digital platforms and drive production stability and observability.
Transform Performance Engineering into a customer-centric discipline focused on experience, scalability, and release readiness.
Define and lead the Digital automation strategy, reusable frameworks, governance, and self-service capabilities including AI-assisted testing.
Build and scale high-performance engineering teams with a focus on inclusion and global capability.
Champion engineering excellence, culture, and responsible AI adoption while improving DORA metrics and reducing technical debt.
Be a hands-on architecture coach involved in decisions, reviews, and design.
Partner with business and technology leaders to deliver scalable digital solutions across brands.
