Dr. Squatch is seeking a Head of R&D to lead technical and product innovation across our personal care portfolio.

This hands-on role requires deep formulation expertise and the ability to scale development through external partners while navigating rapid growth across channels. Reporting to executive leadership, you will set technical strategy, manage a multidisciplinary team, and partner with manufacturing and suppliers.

Formación

• 10+ years of progressive R&D leadership in personal care or related consumer products.
• Deep hands-on formulation experience at the bench; not only oversight.
• Experience scaling formulations through external manufacturing partners.
• Proven success leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong ability to communicate with executive, commercial, and technical stakeholders.
• Experience operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor's in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to the Los Angeles area for hybrid work.

Responsabilidades

• Own technical strategy and decision-making across the full product development lifecycle.
• Lead formulation development across soaps, deodorants, body care, hair care, skincare.
• Evaluate ingredient systems, raw materials, and manufacturing processes for performance and scalability.
• Serve as the senior technical authority on formulation, quality and product performance.
• Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Ensure speed-to-market without compromising formulation integrity or quality.
• Lead the innovation pipeline from concept to commercialization across new products.
• Build scalable development processes to improve agility and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead technical relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
• Oversee manufacturing scale-up and troubleshoot across co-manufacturers.
• Support cost optimization while maintaining consumer experience and product quality.
• Mentor and develop a diverse technical team; balance strategy with hands-on problem solving.
