An established industry player is seeking a dedicated advocate to enhance doctor relationships and navigate complex issues within the optical industry. This role involves strategic outreach, problem-solving, and collaboration with business partners to maximize the value of VSP's offerings. Support the development and drive implementation of short- and long-term strategic outreach plans, collaborating with business partners across the enterprise.
Develop and maintain strong external relationships with policy-setting doctors and influencers within the optical industry. Implement strategies designed to influence the markets in which doctors operate.
Serve as a point of contact to research, analyze, and resolve complex issues and escalations involving practice-level and policy matters, coordinating with internal and external partners as needed.
Understand managed vision legislation and its implications for doctors.
Be knowledgeable about VSP insurance products and services, assisting doctors and staff with strategies to maximize their relationship with VSP.
Serve as a speaker or facilitator at events and workshops of all sizes, as necessary.
Maintain knowledge about the healthcare marketplace at the national and regional levels, the vision insurance environment, and VSP’s insurance products and services.
Represent the doctor perspective on issues related to VSP and the broader industry within the enterprise.
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the organization's strategic direction, balancing business and customer needs to achieve successful outcomes.
Identify and alert the organization to business trends and themes that could impact VSP or the industry.
Enhance the strategic strength of enterprise partnerships, using progressive tactics to increase value and provide solutions for doctors.
Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or related fields, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of six years of experience in provider relations, outside sales, account management, business development, or client relationships, preferably within the optical industry.
Capable problem solver who identifies challenges on behalf of doctors and works effectively with internal stakeholders to address issues.
Demonstrated professionalism and leadership, especially in situations involving controversy or conflict.
Team player who enjoys collaborative strategy development and tactical execution.
Self-starter able to work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
Experienced speaker capable of addressing large audiences and facilitating group discussions.

Compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $135,000, depending on experience and other factors. The package may include bonuses and commissions. For more information on VSP Vision benefits, click here.
