Job summary

constructorknowledgelabs seeks a senior product leader to own the direction of a quantum software line, bridging research and a platform. You will own the roadmap, prioritization, and external relationships turning prototypes into shipped products.

You will lead a small, senior team between physicists and engineers, driving planning, performing in-depth product decisions, and representing the group at conferences and partner settings.

Role overview

Lead the product direction for a quantum software line that turns cutting-edge research into something a broader audience can actually use. The position bridges a research group and a technology platform, owning the roadmap, the prioritisation decisions, and the external relationships that turn prototypes into shipped product. It is a hands-on, senior seat in a small technical team rather than a programme management or portfolio oversight role, with direct accountability for what leaves the door.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end roadmap for the quantum software line and the prioritisation calls that shape it
• Decide which capabilities get folded into the wider technology platform and in what order
• Translate research output into product that external users and paying customers adopt
• Sit between physicists and engineers, running planning for a small, senior, opinionated group and keeping both sides productive
• Run customer, partner, and vendor relationships directly, including joint offerings with adjacent groups and academic applications
• Represent the work externally at conferences and partner settings, growing the group's visibility

Requirements

• Technical background in physics, engineering, or computer science, with the depth to challenge research scientists on substance
• Demonstrated track record taking scientific or deep-tech software from research prototype to shipped product
• History of running customer and partner conversations directly, not handing them off to a sales function
• Experience working in environments small enough that the product lead also does the work
• Strong facilitation skills, comfortable being the only product voice in the room
• Degree in a technical discipline; postgraduate qualification viewed as a plus; fluent English

• Comfort saying no clearly and explaining the reasoning behind it
• Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
