Hi there, we're Yendo, and our vision is to empower everyday people to build a stronger financial future. In less than 2 years, we’ve saved customers over $100 million in unnecessary interest and fees. We are using AI to unlock the $1.1 Trillion in vehicle equity trapped within cars owned by Americans in the form of a high limit, standard rate credit card for those traditionally excluded from mainstream financial offerings.Yendo Credit Cards have similar APRs to those issued for prime borrowers with no hidden fees or overdraft charges and help build their customers' credit score. Yendo's credit limits are 4x higher than cards typically available for non-prime borrowers.

Role Overview

Reporting into the Chief Product Officer as Head of Product Design, you’ll define and drive Yendo’s design vision, strategy, and execution. Your work will focus on crafting seamless, intuitive, and inclusive experiences for our customers. This is a hybrid role : you’ll lead by example as the dedicated product designer for one of our squads, while also mentoring a high-performing team.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Growth, Engineering, and Credit to create ground-breaking experiences that inspire trust, solve real customer problems, and drive measurable impact across the business. You’ll turn user research and product data into actionable insights, and guide your team through rapid experimentation, tight feedback loops, and high-velocity execution.

As a design leader, you’ll maintain a lean, efficient team that delivers outsize impact.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive Yendo’s design strategy, aligning user needs with business goals
  • Partner closely with Product, Growth, Engineering, and Credit to create intuitive, high-performing experiences that inspire trust and drive measurable results
  • Own the end-to-end product design process for core experiences, from research and concept to execution and iteration
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative, feedback-rich environment
  • Champion a culture of user-centered design, using research and data to inform decisions and improve outcomes
  • Evolve and maintain our design system and visual identity to ensure consistency and scalability across products
  • Foster a transparent and collaborative working environment, communicating the design vision and insights to stakeholders clearly and effectively
  • Develop a deep understanding of the finance industry including internal and external forces that will continually shape our business.

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with 3+ years in design leadership roles
  • Experience designing and shipping digital products in fintech, consumer tech, or fast-paced startups
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, user-centered design and measurable outcomes
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern design and prototyping tools
  • Experience leading user research and applying qualitative and quantitative data to design decisions
  • Deep understanding of interaction design, accessibility, and user psychology
  • Deep experience with A / B testing, opportunity solution trees, and iterative product development
  • A customer-first mindset with a passion for solving real-world problems
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Passion for financial empowerment and building for customers historically left behind
