Job summary

MS Reinsurance is seeking a seasoned Technical Pricing leader to oversee all actuarial pricing for US and Latin American treaties and manage the Technical Pricing team based in New York, Bermuda, and Miami.

You will refine pricing models, calibrate methods, oversee case pricing and rate monitoring, and support reserves. This role reports to the Head of Pricing and requires ACAS; FCAS preferred, and fluent Spanish is a plus. Hybrid work in Miami or New York, salary range $325,000–$365,000.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant work experience.
• Extensive reinsurance pricing experience.
• Experience managing actuarial team members.
• Strong knowledge of US Casualty market and pricing practices.
• Experience with Latin American/non-US markets preferred.
• ACAS designation required; FCAS designation preferred.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills.
• Strong IT skills: Excel, VBA and SQL.
• Knowledge of R and Python desirable.
• Strong communication and cross-department coordination.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to oversee all technical pricing aspects associated with reinsurance treaties with exposures in the US and Latin America and manage the Technical Pricing team members based in New York, Bermuda, and Miami. The role works within the broader Technical Pricing team in identifying the requirements and specifications of the pricing models and contributing to their continuous improvement. This will include providing support in the embedding of robust actuarial methods as well as model calibration. This position will oversee and perform case pricing and rate monitoring and ad hoc support with the claims reserving process. This position reports to the Head of Pricing.

Your responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of timely and accurate actuarial input to assist underwriters with individual risk pricing, including draft pricing results and explanation of cost drivers and material movements.
• Develop a detailed technical understanding of existing pricing models in order to assist with future development and refinement.
• Contribute to the development and parameterization of new pricing models within MS Reinsurance’s technical pricing framework.
• Oversee the production and validation of portfolio pricing statistics for US and Latin American markets.
• Collaborate and share knowledge with the wider pricing and actuarial team on pricing approaches and analyses.
• Manage and develop team members.

Your profile

• 15+ years of relevant work experience.
• Extensive reinsurance pricing experience.
• Experience with managing actuarial team members.
• Strong knowledge of US Casualty market and pricing practices.
• Experience working with Latin American/non-US reinsurance markets strongly preferred.
• ACAS designation required. FCAS designation strongly preferred.
• Communication skills in Spanish preferred.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills.
• Strong IT skills particularly MS Excel, VBA and SQL experience desirable.
• Knowledge of programming languages (R, Python) desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments within the organization.
