Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. seeks a General Manager - Preconstruction to lead preconstruction strategies, standards, and the pursuit of major power delivery projects across transmission, distribution, substations, and renewable energy assets.

You will oversee a team of preconstruction professionals, align with operations and executive leadership, and drive risk management, budgeting, and procurement planning to ensure successful project startups.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership with experience overseeing preconstruction and pursuit teams.
• Proven ability to develop standards, processes, and initiatives for consistency.
• Deep knowledge of estimating, budgeting, procurement, and risk management.
• Experience supporting customer-facing proposals and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all preconstruction activities.
• Develop and implement standards and initiatives to improve quality and readiness.
• Oversee risk assessments, budgeting, and proposal development.
• Lead bid reviews and pursuit strategies aligned with commercial goals.
• Manage staffing, training, and resource planning within preconstruction.
• Collaborate with executives to support growth and key customer relationships.
