Job summary

Draper, an independent nonprofit R&D organization based in Cambridge, MA, seeks a senior leader to head the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Instrumentation Group. This onsite role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a TS clearance.

You will guide a high-impact team, shape technology offerings, recruit and mentor staff, and align capabilities with sponsors’ priorities for critical national missions. PhD preferred for advanced leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience in design, development and management of complex systems.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative details and career development for group members.
• Convey relevant information from management to group members.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the group's area of expertise; conduct performance evaluations.
• Maintain awareness of staffing needs and write job requisitions for hiring.
• Serve as Lead Subject Matter Expert for your area.
• Shape Draper’s technology offerings and open new business areas based on experience.
• Analyze Draper’s strategy to build capability aligned with customer priorities.
