This role guides executive decision-making through scenario analysis and risk management, partnering with Finance on budgets and plans.

The position requires 10+ years in planning, 5+ years in leadership, and deep expertise in IBP/S&OP, ERP systems, and analytics. Travel and cross-site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field required, MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive planning and supply chain experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a planning function.
• Experience leading IBP, S&OP, and inventory optimization programs.
• Experience supporting annual budget planning and multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the NORAM Planning organization across demand, supply, production, and inventory planning.
• Own and lead the IBP and S&OP processes monthly.
• Develop a rolling 24–36 month demand and supply plan.
• Drive forecast accuracy and bias reduction.
• Align demand with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics strategies.
• Establish inventory policies and replenishment methodologies.
• Lead executive reviews and provide risk/ROI guidance.

Job description

We are looking for our next Head of Planning - North America, within our Supply Chain Team. The Head of Planning NORAM is responsible for providing strategic leadership across Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Planning, Integrated Business Planning, Sales & Operations Planning, Planning Analytics, and Planning Master Data across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This role is accountable for balancing customer service, inventory, manufacturing capacity, working capital, and profitability objectives while ensuring an integrated and aligned supply chain planning process across North America.

The position serves as the primary planning leader supporting executive decision making through scenario analysis, risk management, and business planning governance.

This position is located in Geneva, Illinois, United States. (Geneva, IL, US).

Compensation:

The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $132,000 - $198,000. In addition, this position may also earn performance-based incentive compensation. The posted range reflects the compensation framework for the role. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal equity.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the North America Planning organization across Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Planning, and Planning Analytics.
• Own and lead the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
• Develop and maintain a rolling 24- to 36-month demand and supply plan.
• Drive forecast accuracy improvement, forecast bias reduction, and demand sensing capabilities.
• Align commercial demand plans with manufacturing, procurement, transportation, warehousing, customer service, and supply chain strategies.
• Establish inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and replenishment methodologies.
• Lead executive supply chain reviews and provide recommendations regarding service, inventory, capacity, and risk trade-offs.
• Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies for supply disruptions and demand volatility.
• Drive planning process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure planning master data governance and integrity.
• Leverage advanced analytics and digital planning tools to improve planning effectiveness.
• Partner with Finance to support annual budgets, forecasts, strategic plans, and working capital objectives.
• Identify and implement planning automation opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

What You'll Need:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. Master's degree (MBA or Supply Chain specialization) preferred. APICS/ASCM, CSCMP, CLTD, Six Sigma certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressive planning and supply chain experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership and team management experience.
• Proven experience balancing customer service, inventory, and cost objectives.
• Experience leading integrated business planning, demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimization programs.
• Experience in working capital management.
• Strength in data analytics and business intelligence.
• Expertise in ERP and Advanced Planning Systems.
• Experience supporting annual budget planning and leading multi-site operations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Leads the NORAM Planning organization
  • Direct management of Supply/Demand Planning and Supply Planning team members.
  • Responsible for coaching, developing, and leading a high-performing planning organization.

Work Environment

• Office environment.
• Regular collaboration across geographically dispersed organizations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
• Visits to manufacturing sites, warehouses, and office locations required.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, and utilize standard office equipment.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Business Travel
