Job summary

RYZE is seeking a Director of People Operations to build the operational and strategic backbone of the People function. You will lead a team of People Operations Partners & Generalists and partner with founders and leaders across the business to design scalable programs.

You will own end-to-end People Operations, drive performance management, workforce planning, and culture initiatives, and champion AI-driven automation in a fast-growing, distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience in a high-growth startup/scale-up.
• Hands-on experience across performance management, succession planning, workforce planning, retention, and employee engagement.
• Experience leading organizational design and change management.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law with multi-state experience.
• General knowledge of compensation and benefits programs and HR technology.

Responsibilities

• Own People Operations end to end, building infrastructure, processes, and tools as the company scales.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of People Operations Partners and Generalists.
• Advise leaders on team dynamics, organizational design, and growth challenges.
• Design and lead performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning frameworks.
• Build retention, culture, and employee engagement strategies for a fast-growing distributed team.
• Lead learning, development, and onboarding with structured paths for new hires.
• Maintain working knowledge of compensation and benefits programs.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws for a remote workforce.
• Build SOPs and communication frameworks for consistent delivery.
• Champion AI adoption and workflow automation in People Operations.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Legal, IT, and Finance on initiatives and policies.
• Partner with founders on org design and change management.
