Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Director of Optical Communications Terminals in Washington state. You will lead the architecture, development, qualification, production, and deployment of TeraWave optical terminals, owning end-to-end technical and execution performance across multiple engineering domains.

The role reports to the VP of Payloads and Terminals and partners with spacecraft, ground systems, and supply chain teams to ensure scalable, reliable systems and manufacturable designs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a multidisciplinary engineering organization.
• Ability to take products from architecture through development, qualification, production, and deployment.
• Strong collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing, and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and product definition for TeraWave optical communications terminals.
• Drive architecture decisions across engineering disciplines and set system-level objectives.
• Define interfaces between terminal, spacecraft, ground, and network; ensure manufacturability and reliability.
