Job summary

AbbVie seeks an experienced leader to oversee pharmacovigilance and product safety as part of the safety organization. You will guide safety surveillance, signal detection, and regulatory-compliant PV documentation across multiple products and indications.

You will manage senior medical directors and teams, drive risk management programs, and coordinate cross-functional efforts through the product lifecycle, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance worldwide.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with 2+ years of residency and patient management experience.
• Master of Public Health is preferred in addition to MD/DO, not required.
• 8-10 years of Pharmacovigilance / Clinical Development experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and advise on regulatory strategies.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Leading Product Safety Teams (PST) and supporting one or more products as PST Lead.
• Ensure safety of products through the lifecycle, including surveillance, signal detection, validation and assessment.
• Apply regulatory guidance for safety surveillance and PV document authorship.
• Analyze aggregate safety data and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
• Develop and oversee periodic safety reports (PSURs, PADERs, etc.).
• Oversee safety activities for products in clinical trials and post marketing.
• Implement risk management strategies for assigned products.
• Mentor and develop team members; coordinate safety activities across indications.
