Job summary

Wilks Brothers, LLC, a family-based holding company, seeks a Director of Accounting to lead day-to-day accounting for the holding company and its operating subsidiaries, directing month-end close, GL activities, and reconciliations.

The role partners with the VP of Accounting and Finance to drive standardization, controls, and process improvements across finance, including multi-entity oversight and audit support. On-site in Cisco, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing accounting operations within a multi-entity organization required.
• Experience in holding company, conglomerate, private equity-backed, or multi-subsidiary environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations.
• Experience with ERP systems WolfePak, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations for holding company and subsidiaries.
• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate transactions per policies.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Oversee fixed assets accounting, accruals, and other balance sheet activities.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain accounting documentation.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and provide audit support schedules.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive automation.
