JOB SUMMARY

As Head of Mission Critical Projects, this role will set the standards for how NGEN delivers complex, high-stakes infrastructure projects. The Head of MC Projects is the architect of our client delivery strategy, overseeing a team of project managers and client success staff responsible for managing the client lifecycle from initial contact to final delivery and commissioning. From hyperscale data centers to essential utility infrastructure, this role ensures every project is delivered on budget, on schedule, and with uncompromising reliability. Our ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience to oversee all internal project management functions, ensuring the correct steps and actions are being completed to successfully fulfill client contracts, while overseeing all external customer-facing project management and support.

This position is a member of the NGEN leadership team with broad scope and authority. They will shape the culture of the department, drive financial performance, and be a key face of NGEN for enterprise clients and industry partners. It’s an opportunity to take charge of a high-growth business unit, scale it from the ground up, and define how excellence in mission critical project delivery looks for years to come.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Lead the project management organization, setting both internal and external processes, procedures, and standards for client delivery
  • Direct and mentor a team of project managers, service engineers, and client success staff across multiple regions
  • Drive internal departments to ensure they are meeting the project timelines and requirements needed to deliver on time and in full for the customer
  • Lead key client calls, building trust at the highest levels and ensuring long-term partnerships
  • Oversee execution of complex, multi-million-dollar projects, ensuring expert level scope, schedule, and budget management
  • Establish and enforce best-in-class project delivery frameworks, governance models, and KPIs
  • Partner with sales, supply chain, and engineering leadership to ensure seamless project handoff, technical alignment, and value creation
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring consistent delivery standards
  • Champion continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and embedding them into operating procedures
  • Represent NGEN externally as an industry leader, strengthening the company’s reputation in the mission critical market
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 12+ years in senior project leadership roles within data centers, utilities, or mission critical infrastructure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Hands-on experience delivering complex infrastructure projects involving high-voltage transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and large-scale cooling equipment
  • Proven success overseeing multi-disciplinary project teams with P&L responsibility ($50M+ budgets)
  • Deep experience with contract negotiations and content review
  • Strong background in account management, enterprise client relationships, and technical escalation resolution
  • Track record of building, scaling, and leading project organizations in startup or high-growth environments
  • Advanced project management certification (PMP, PgMP, or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Established network in the data center and critical infrastructure sectors with the ability to attract top talent
