Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead the data centers commissioning practice. You will guide strategy, manage a high-performance team, and ensure technical excellence across Tier III/IV facilities, including hyperscale centers.

You will drive standardization, client engagements, and price estimations while maintaining budgets and schedules. A deep background in electrical/mechanical systems and strong communication to executives is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or 12–15+ years in mission-critical commissioning
• 10–15 years hands-on commissioning in mission-critical facilities, with at least 5 years in leadership
• Proven track record commissioning hyperscale data centers (10MW+ IT load) and Tier III/IV facilities
• Deep knowledge of electrical distribution systems including MV equipment, transformers, ATS, UPS (2N, N+1), generators, switchgear, PDUs
• Understanding of mechanical cooling: chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers, pumping systems
• Expertise in functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, and acceptance criteria development
• Experience building and managing high-performing technical teams with mentoring and performance management
• Strong proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 40% (approx. 20–25% per active project)
• Preferred: PE or PMP certifications; CCP, CxA, LEED AP BD+C, CDCP, OSHA 30/ NFPA 70EED
• Experience with commissioning management tools (Bluerithm, CxAlloy, CXAPP), BIM/CAD
• P&L responsibility, business development, and account management experience
• Familiarity with liquid cooling, AI/ML infrastructure, and renewable energy integration

Responsibilities

• Recommend departmental strategic plans for the commissioning practice to senior leadership and participate in business development
• Establish commissioning processes, procedures, and QA frameworks for Tier III/IV environments per ASHRAE/NFPA/IEEE
• Oversee a team of commissioning managers and field technicians, assign resources and coach performance
• Serve as escalation point for complex challenges, coordinating with design teams, contractors, vendors, and testers
• Oversee testing protocols for electrical, mechanical, BMS/EPMS, and fire protection systems
• Review and maintain commissioning documentation standards: test procedures, performance tests, reports, O&M manuals
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, NFPA70E, lockout/tagout, confined space
• Identify opportunities to integrate technologies like liquid cooling and digital platforms
• Manage moderate-sized budgets and stakeholder communications to maintain timelines
• Travel up to 40% across multiple active projects
• Preferred: PE or PMP and related certifications
