Job summary

Solidus Resources, LLC is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead mine engineering, planning, and governance for a large-scale open-pit operation at the Lovelock, NV mine on-site. You will direct short- and mid-term plans, oversee drill-and-blast, survey, and equipment needs, and champion a digitally enabled, autonomous mining environment.

The role requires a Mining Engineering degree, 8+ years in open-pit mining, and 3–5 years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in open-pit hard-rock mining; gold or copper experience preferred.
• 3–5 years leading mine engineering/technical services teams.
• Experience with mid- and short-term mine planning.
• Proficiency with Vulcan and MinePlan.
• Strong cross-department communication and relationship skills.
• Preference for experience in autonomous/digitally enabled mining.
• Professional Engineer registration or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mid- and short-term mine plan development and execution.
• Oversee sequencing, haulage, equipment needs, stockpiles, drill‑and‑blast planning.
• Review forecasts and performance; identify risks and actions.
• Ensure plans meet production targets and are clearly communicated.
• Guide a team of engineers and junior staff to deliver results.
• Coordinate with operations, geology, and technical teams.
• Support digital mining initiatives and data‑driven decision making.
