Predictive Sales AI, LLC in Chicago seeks a Head of Meteorology to lead the weather science behind hail and damaging-wind detection. You will own scientific direction, build production radar/model pipelines, and work daily with data science and engineering to produce defensible, production-ready outputs at scale.

The role requires Ph.D.-level expertise, hands-on radar data experience, and the ability to ship production code while communicating uncertainty across teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science with hail/damaging-wind focus.
• Hands-on experience with Level II NEXRAD radar data and dual-polarization products.
• Proven ability to build production Python data pipelines in cloud or HPC.

Responsabilités

• Lead weather science for hail and damaging wind detection.
• Develop production Python pipelines for radar and model data.
• Validate detections against observed reports and ensure defensibility.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams daily.
• Maintain production-ready code with xarray, Pandas or Polars.
• Explain severe weather science to non-technical teams.
• Define data sources, resolution, and handling gaps.
