Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• Record of leadership appropriate for tenured full professor.
• Strong fundamentals in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Promote an ambitious vision and mission for the department.
• Mentor faculty in teaching, research, and service.
• Oversee curriculum development, outcomes assessment, and accreditation.
• Manage administrative, financial, and space resources.
• Raise extramural funds and promote research centers.
• Engage with partners to grow research and training programs.
• Enhance department recognition nationally and internationally.
• Lead faculty recruitment and tenure processes.
• Participate in college, university, and external duties.
• Support undergraduate and graduate students.
• Participate in interdisciplinary efforts across USU.
