Position Function:

The Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, orTeaching Professor of Aerospace Engineering is under theadministrative supervision of the Department Head of AerospaceEngineering and will serve as a professional faculty member.Specific activities include teaching, service and advising studentsin the Aerospace Engineering program.

Department Profile:

The ASE department offers an enriching undergraduate programleading to a Bachelor of Science degree, as well as challenging andexciting graduate programs leading to the Master of Science andDoctor of Philosophy degrees. Founded in 1935, the aerospaceengineering program is one of the most established in the nation.Aerospace engineers are primarily focused on the design,fabrication, testing, and analysis of aircraft andspacecraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AerospaceEngineering.
  • Supervise research of graduate students.
  • Engage in scholarly activities resulting in journal andconference papers.
  • Serve as an active member of the technical community andparticipate in the activities of professional and/or technicalsocieties.
Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD in aerospace engineering or a closely related field isrequired. Excellent oral and written communication skills arerequired.

Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include teaching experience, a substantialrecord of peer-reviewed publications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A PhD in aerospace engineering or a closely related field isrequired. PhD candidates will be considered contingent uponcompletion of their degree. Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills are required.
