About us
BioTalent is a talent consultancy for the life sciences sector. We help life sciences leaders build the teams behind their science through five solutions: Talent Science, our predictive modelling platform; BioX our executive search offering and BioTalent our RPO; statement of work and recruitment consultancy. We are 65 people across the US, Switzerland, the UK and Europe and part of The IN Group alongside Investigo and InX.
Our growth engine is our unique communities. Over 700,000 people follow our company pages and newsletters or belong to the communities we run: Race In STEM, WomenWise and HealthTechQuity. More than 30% of the senior talent in our networks is not reachable on LinkedIn at all. Add our monthly life sciences funding tracker, our hosted events and multiple podcast sries, and you have a media and community business that earns its revenue from talent. This role runs that engine and takes it to the next level.
The role
You own growth marketing for BioTalent. You support the in-country business strategy with content, communities and events alongside the local teams. You also give support to Investigo and InX in the US. The job is to turn our audience and communities into inbound client business through exceptional content and events for C-suite and senior leaders in life sciences. Senior candidate flow into our networks follows from the same work.
You report to the CEO and you build alone in year one, with a budget for tools, freelancers, events, podcast production and develop an AI agent stack to carry the admin and execution. If the 2027 numbers land, you hire in 2028. Consultants take the conversations you create; you do not carry a sales target.
What you'll own
- Content and social. Run the company pages and newsletters. Produce content senior leaders actually read: original research, data stories from the funding tracker, short video and carousels. Build a content engine where AI drafts, repurposes and schedules and you set the bar.
- Events. Own the hosted events programme end to end: roundtables, dinners, Apéro-style gatherings and community sessions, delivered in person. Pre-event positioning, invitations and partner line-ups; post-event content, nurture and lead handover. Industry conferences sit with the sales team.
- Communities. Grow and activate Race In STEM, WomenWise and HealthTechQuity alongside their founders, who sit in our sales team, and partner with other communities where it reaches our audience. Build the sponsorship packages the sales team sells, and deliver sponsored events and content to a quality that earns the renewal.
- Podcasts. Executive-produce our podcasts: Beyond the Purpose, co-hosted by the CEO, and the community series. Hosts and the sales team book most guests; you own format, editorial, production (AI tools plus a freelance editor where needed), publishing and promotion, and turn every episode into clips, posts and newsletter content.
- Inbound and AI visibility. Own inbound lead flow and our visibility in AI answers (GEO) alongside SEO, so BioTalent is the name ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity give when someone asks who to call for life sciences talent. The website and CRM providers are set at group level and can't be changed; everything else on the website is yours, from design and content to plugins, forms and tracking.
- AI-first execution. Build and run the agent stack for research, drafting, repurposing, scheduling, reporting and event admin, and own the marketing tools.
- Budget. Set the annual marketing budget with the CEO and own it through the year: tools, freelancers, events, podcast production and paid.
Our 2027 outcomes are clear and how we get there is yours to shape in the first 90 days.
Who you are
- Hunger, ambition and the desire to build something that is yours. We care about what you have done, not how many years it took. You have most likely grown up in B2B growth or demand generation at a fast-paced SaaS scale-up, consultancy or pharma services business.
- You have grown an audience and turned it into pipeline, with numbers you can show.
- You write well enough that a CSO or a VP Clinical would read it, and you can produce content yourself: writing, short video, design direction.
- You have run roundtables, dinners or community events that senior people wanted to come back to.
- AI-native. You use and build agents and AI tooling every day and can show workflows you built and what they replaced.
- Ambitious and autonomous. You want to own something and prove it works before you ask for a team.
- Life sciences fluency is a strong plus. Curiosity about science and a fast learner is a must.
What we offer
- Ownership of growth for a global life sciences talent consultancy, reporting directly to the CEO.
- A seat at the leadership table.
- Competitive base salary plus a bonus tied to the inbound and community outcomes above.
- Budget for tools, freelancers, events and podcast production, and a clear path to building a team in 2028.
- Hybrid working from our international offices with international travel
