Job summary

Banco Santander SA is seeking the CIB Head of Market Risk for Securitized Products Trading in the United States. The role reports to the US Head of CIB Market Risk/CRO of Santander Capital and leads market risk for agency and non‑agency securitized products trading, including CMBS conduits and whole loan securitization.

You will advise trading desks on risk and regulatory capital usage, manage risk infrastructure, and coordinate with regulators across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Management or similar field.
• In-depth understanding of securitized products and trading strategies.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and market risk methodologies (VaR, ES).
• Solid quantitative skills (statistics, probability, derivatives valuation) and basic Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact with traders, senior management and regulators.
• Experience leading teams in a complex, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Market Risk management for all securitized products trading in the US.
• Oversee risk governance and policy review; coordinate with policy teams.
• Lead CMBS conduit and agency/non‑agency securitized product risk initiatives.
• Manage risk infrastructure and systems supporting securitized products.
• Build relationships with US and European regulators.
