Job summary

Charge Robotics, a Series A startup building robots for solar farm construction, seeks a Head of Manufacturing to own production from initial facility setup to scalable, high-quality operations. You’ll lead the manufacturing team, establish processes, and partner with engineering and supply chain to drive efficient production at HQ and field sites.

You will build an on-site team in the SF Bay Area, align manufacturing with company goals, and champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
• Experience standing up and operationalizing a production facility
• Proven ability to bring complex electromechanical systems from prototype to production
• Familiar with DFM, DFA, and GD&T; experience sourcing and qualifying suppliers
• Willing to work in a fast-paced in-person startup and travel ~20%
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate to San Leandro, CA

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and grow a world-class manufacturing team
• Own end-to-end operation of the production facility from site readiness to staffing
• Build and maintain a manufacturing engineering org aligned with design engineering
• Collaborate with supply chain to reduce COGS through DFM and process optimization
• Establish manufacturing processes, docs, BOMs, supplier quality, and org structure
• Represent manufacturing to stakeholders and lead safety culture at the facility
