Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction or closely related field.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Principal or General Administrator endorsement.
• At least five years of classroom experience and five years as an administrator (principal experience highly preferred).
• Demonstrated record of improving instructional practice and student outcomes through collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Superintendent on teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment, PD, and academic improvement.
• Translate mission and goals into a coherent instructional vision and multiyear plans.
• Be an active member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and contribute to district planning and communication.
• Build shared ownership of instructional priorities with administrators, educators, staff, families, and community partners.
• Monitor and respond to educational research, legislation, and state/federal requirements to support student learning.
• Lead design, review, adoption, implementation, and evaluation of PreK–8 curriculum aligned with standards.
• Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum articulation across grade levels and schools.
• Establish high-quality, evidence-based instruction promoting critical thinking and student agency.
• Oversee a balanced assessment system and use data to improve teaching.
• Guide review and selection of instructional materials and technology with departments.
• Coordinate academic programming for advanced learning, multilingual learners, and early childhood.
• Ensure curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning reflect high expectations and access for every student.
• Collaborate with Student Services to support intervention and compliance with student plans.
