Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of America is seeking a Manager YD Learning Development to lead the National Trainers Initiative and strengthen staff development across the BGCA Movement. You will work as a consultant and systems thinker to align people, processes, and practices that support high-quality youth development.

The role requires 5–7 years in staff development with a focus on adult learning, plus a willingness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in staff development, learning and development, talent development, training, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience serving as an internal or external consultant to leaders and cross-functional teams, including scoping engagements, diagnosing organizational needs, facilitating sense-making, developing recommendations, and supporting implementation and change.
• Experience in youth development, education, workforce development, or other mission-driven organizations, with a focus on adult learning, staff development, and organizational impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the redesign, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the National Trainers Initiative (NTI), ensuring alignment with BGCA’s broader staff development and culture of learning strategies.
• Build and support a high-quality network of trainers and staff development professionals across the Movement.
• Consult with Club leaders and cross-functional teams to assess organizational conditions and build leadership practices, routines, roles, and supports for continuous staff learning.
• Apply systems thinking to examine how strategy, leadership, talent, learning, data, tools, and operating practices interact; facilitate root-cause analysis and co-design practical solutions.
• Design, facilitate, test, and curate learning experiences, coaching tools, diagnostic resources, and job-embedded supports that strengthen trainer effectiveness.
• Develop practical measures of trainer effectiveness and organizational capacity; use data to monitor progress and sustain improvement.
