Job summary

Baseten is seeking a Head of IT in San Francisco to build, scale, and secure our internal tech function. You will lead 5+ IT engineers, own corporate infrastructure, and drive automated onboarding, IAM, and procurement. This role focuses on enterprise readiness, security, and enabling rapid growth for AI-enabled platforms.

You will manage vendor relationships, oversee the IT budget, and spearhead AI-powered workflows to boost productivity while maintaining a frictionless employee experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT leadership experience, with 2+ years as Head of IT or IT Director at a scale-up.
• Hands-on with Zero Trust, IAM/SSO, MDM, and HRIS integrations.
• Proven vendor negotiations and strict IT budgeting.
• AI-first mindset and turboshale automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of IT engineers to high performance and end-user satisfaction.
• Establish on-call, SLAs, incident response, and helpdesk excellence.
• Architect automated onboarding/offboarding and role changes across HRIS, MDM, IAM.
• SaaS management, vendor spend optimization, and procurement oversight.
• Deploy internal AI tools and Baseten models to boost productivity.
• Own hardware lifecycle, software licenses, and global IT budget.
