Job summary

We Insure Group seeks a Director, Insurance Licensing & Compliance to build and lead the licensing program across corporate entities, producers, franchise entities, and acquired agencies. The role establishes who is authorized to operate and translates state requirements into practical, auditable workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; active licensing preferred.
• 7+ years in progressive insurance licensing with multi-state exposure.
• 3+ years owning a licensing program or leading licensing teams.
• Hands-on with individual/business licenses, lines of authority, renewals, CE, appointments.
• Ability to build controls, reconcile data, and document procedures for regulatory exams.
• Experience with NIPR and licensing platforms (Sircon, AgentSync, RegEd).
• Strong judgment and communication skills for executive-level guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise licensing policy, procedures, and exception process.
• Maintain state-by-state licensing framework for licenses and lines of authority; renewals and CE.
• Manage corporate applications, affiliations, and offboarding when authority ends.
• Define licensing requirements for franchise onboarding, ownership changes, and expansions.
• Establish licensing prerequisites for carrier appointments and market access; reconcile records.
• Lead annual/regulatory filings, exam support, and responses; escalate to outside counsel as needed.
• Maintain a controlled licensing system using NIPR and other portals; automate renewals and dashboards.
• Partner with HR, Franchise Ops, Finance, Tech, Data, Carrier Relations to align licensing with workflows.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into owner assignments and training.
• Lead licensing due diligence for acquisitions and post-merger integration.
