Job summary

Chef Robotics is seeking a Head of Hardware to define and execute our hardware strategy for enterprise-grade performance. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing system architecture and guiding the transition from lab to high-volume production.

You will collaborate with software, autonomy, and application engineering to prioritize features based on real-world data, and ensure reliable designs for harsh kitchen environments. Equity is part of compensation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience with leadership roles.
• Experience taking products from low-volume to high-volume manufacturing with Tier-1 CMs.
• Deep expertise in mechatronics, motion control, and ruggedized design.
• Proven ability to drive BOM cost reductions without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hardware architecture and system definition for existing and next‑gen products.
• Lead transition to high-volume production; target 100+ robots deployed by year‑end.
• Partner with CM manufacturers and manage global supply chain to cut BOM costs.
• Collaborate with software/Autonomy teams to ensure hardware‑software integration.
• Enforce DFM/DFA standards for enterprise-grade reliability in harsh kitchens.
