Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead globally distributed teams responsible for index build and lifecycle platforms. The role focuses on architecture, delivery accountability, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

You will mentor engineers, drive cloud-native modernization, and collaborate with Product, Operations, and Architecture to deliver strategic capabilities while maintaining reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven leadership of globally distributed engineering teams.
• Strong architectural guidance and decision-making.
• Experience with scalable data-intensive applications and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale globally distributed engineering teams delivering index platforms.
• Own end-to-end engineering delivery for scalable, secure, high-availability solutions.
• Provide technical direction for platform modernization and API/microservice design.
• Promote engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, observability, security.
• Mentor engineers and engineering managers; drive succession planning.
