This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Global Head of Facilities and Occupational Safety.

  • Drive Digital Transformation: Act as the global business owner for EHS management software (e.g., Enablon, Cority, or similar), managing its implementation, configuration, and data integrity.
  • Lead and Mentor: Manage a team of six direct reports, navigating them through organizational change and growing future leaders through active mentorship and technical guidance.
  • Innovate Risk Management: Develop and lead innovative approaches and tools to overcome organizational barriers, introducing new methods to manage EHS risks globally to unlock business growth.
  • Govern Metrics & Policy: Own the development of global policies and performance metrics, utilizing EHS software to provide real-time data insights and reports for executive leadership.
You have:

  • Software Leadership: Proven experience leading the selection, global rollout, and administration of enterprise-level EHS software platforms to drive proactive safety cultures.
  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage medium-to-large teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders by identifying trade-offs and multi-faceted risks.
  • Change Management Skills: Experience simplifying complex interfaces between teams or processes to set up an organization for global scalability and growth.
  • Regulatory & Industry Presence: Ability to represent Waymo with external authorities and translate business needs into actionable, compliant, and audacious safety initiatives.

We prefer:
  • Industry Background: Experience in the autonomous vehicle, robotics, aerospace, or high-tech hardware manufacturing sectors.
  • Advanced Certification: Professional credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Digital Integration: Experience transitioning an organization from manual/disparate tracking to a centralized, cloud-based EHS management system.
  • Global Scope: Prior experience managing EHS programs across multiple regions (EMEA, APAC, etc.) and navigating international regulatory frameworks.
  • Educational Foundation: Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to present safety data as a business driver to C-suite executives, demonstrating how safety excellence supports overall operational velocity.
Travel:
