Job summary

Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego is expanding its generative design platform, uniting AI/ML, protein engineering and automation to design novel antibodies and biotherapeutics with improved properties.

You will lead validation and learning, connect computational predictions with experiments, and mentor a team of scientists across disciplines.

This role offers high impact, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a pathway to advance de novo design capabilities.

Qualifications

• Ph.D./Masters/BS with required years as stated in the Basic Requirements.
• Strong Python and applied statistics capabilities.
• Experience translating computational predictions into scientific decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the validation and learning workstream.
• Establish benchmarks for accuracy, generalization, and design validation.
• Coordinate cross-functional validation with experimental scientists.
• Translate experimental learnings into improvements for design cycles.
• Develop physics-based computation and molecular design validation methods.
• Communicate results clearly, publish and present work.
