Job summary

Nirvana in the United States is seeking a senior financial owner for Nirvana Insurance Services (NIS). You will manage close, revenue recognition, billing operations, reinsurance economics, and end-to-end FP&A for the business unit.

You will build a small, high-impact team and partner with cross-functional leaders to establish a single source of truth and scalable processes in a fast-paced insurance tech environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience across both accounting and finance/FP&A inside an operating company of approximately 8 - 12 years.
• Detail-oriented and execution-focused, with resilience in a high-performance, fast-paced setting.
• Hands-on operator: comfortable digging into details with teams and iterating quickly.
• Comfortable navigating complex entity structures and processes and building the future.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own NIS's monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A cycle and write variance narratives for board process.
• Own NIS's accounting close and revenue recognition for MGA commission income (ASC 606).
• Oversee billing operations — premium invoicing, installment billing, agency commission netting.
• Manage premium trust account funding approval and fronting-carrier remittance operations.
• Reconcile NIS's reinsurance program economics and build a shared source of truth.
• Oversee subproducer and agency agreements and remittance/commission balance queries.
• Coordinate NIS's audit deliverables with external auditors.
• Author NIS's financial narrative for the board deck.
• Partner with Fleet, Business Auto, and Non-Fleet leads as day-to-day finance partner.
• Build and lead a small, high-leverage team.
