Vaco is hiring a Head of Finance

Remote, U.S. | Full-Time | $100-$150Base + Bonus

We are partnering with a rapidly growing, founder-led consumer wellness company generating more than $100M in annualized revenue across Amazon, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and other ecommerce channels.

We are seeking a Head of Finance to serve as a strategic financial partner to the Founder and leadership team. This is not a traditional accounting or bookkeeping role. This person will own the forward-looking financial planning and analysis that helps guide major business decisions, including growth investments, inventory, hiring, profitability, and cash flow.

What You'll Own

FP&A & Strategic Planning

• Lead annual budgeting, monthly and quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning


• Build revenue, cash flow, hiring, and departmental forecasts


• Develop scenario models to support strategic business decisions


• Provide financial insights and recommendations directly to executive leadership

Executive Reporting & Business Intelligence

• Develop executive dashboards and weekly business scorecards


• Establish and monitor company and departmental KPIs


• Lead monthly financial and operational performance analysis


• Prepare materials for weekly leadership meetings and quarterly business reviews

Business Partnership

• Partner closely with Marketing, Ecommerce, Amazon, Shopify, TikTok Shop, Operations, Product, Customer Experience, Retention, Creative, and Sales


• Build department budgets, hiring plans, spending forecasts, and growth projections


• Help department leaders understand the financial impact of their decisions


• Balance financial discipline with aggressive investment where the expected return supports it

Inventory & Demand Planning

• Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning


• Analyze inventory health and identify potential stockout or excess inventory risks


• Support purchasing decisions and cash deployment strategies


• Coordinate inventory planning across multiple ecommerce channels

Profitability & Strategic Finance

• Analyze contribution margin, CAC, LTV, pricing, and offer profitability


• Conduct break-even and scenario analysis


• Build financial models for new products and growth initiatives


• Make recommendations around capital allocation and investment opportunities

Systems & Process Improvement

• Improve forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes


• Develop scalable financial planning infrastructure


• Introduce dashboard automation and AI-enabled reporting where appropriate


• Build financial SOPs and documentation as the organization continues to scale

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a strategic finance leader who thinks beyond the numbers. You should be comfortable asking questions like: What is the best use of capital? What happens if our assumptions change? Where are the risks? What information do we need to make a better decision?

Ideal experience includes:

• Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling experience


• Cash flow and revenue forecasting


• Executive reporting and KPI development


• Scenario and sensitivity analysis


• Department-level budgeting and business partnership


• Contribution margin and profitability analysis


• Inventory or demand planning experience


• Experience partnering directly with senior executives, founders, or business owners

Experience within a high-growth consumer business is strongly preferred, particularly within:

Experience within a founder-led or rapidly scaling organization is especially valuable.

What Will Make Someone Successful

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys building rather than simply maintaining. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, challenging assumptions, partnering across departments, and taking broad ownership of financial planning.

This may not be the right fit for someone looking primarily for historical accounting/reporting responsibilities, a highly structured corporate environment with multiple approval layers, or a narrowly defined finance role.

First 90 Days

During the first month, you'll learn the business and evaluate the company's current forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and inventory planning processes.

By days 31-60, you'll begin implementing improvements to financial forecasts, dashboards, budgets, and operating reviews.

By day 90, you'll have begun building a scalable financial planning infrastructure and developed a roadmap to support the company's next stage of growth.

Compensation & Growth

• Base salary target: approximately $100-$150, based on experience


• Performance-based bonus tied to business impact
